“Masiye Phambili” means “Let us move forward” in Zulu.
The Masiye Phambili project consist of a group of enthusiastic people who have suffered strokes or headinjuries, who are making and selling a variety of hand made products.
Facilitated by Headway Gauteng, (http://www.headway-gauteng.org/) the project has been able to generate income for the project participants who are not able to participate in the open labour market. It is further serving as an excellent opportunity for individuals to participate in meaningful productive activities.
Products currently made include cards made in conjunction with the heartfelt foundation (www.theheartfeltproject.com) ; Beaded badges for awareness days and beaded jewellery. We also bake several batches of bread rolls each project day which we sell in and around Alexandra clinic in Johannesburg where we are based....
